
The waist-hip ratio is an indicator of body shape, which can be statistically related to the risk of various health problems and diseases. Ideally, therefore, the waist-hip ratio should be below 0.95 in men and 0.8 in women, as these levels indicate obesity and are associated with greater health risks.
Important Note
In order to calculate a correct ratio, your waist and hip measurements should be taken at their narrowest and widest points respectively, that is, at the navel and over the buttocks.
