What are your weight-control goals?
I would like to get to a weight I am comfortable with and can maintain. I would also like to be a role model for my daughter.
What is your motivation for losing weight?
I want to have more selections available when I buy clothes and I want to look good in those clothes. I also want to ensure that my daughter doesn't grow up with a weight problem so I need to do this for her as well as me.
What is your weight-loss method?
To try not to eat for reasons other than hunger. That means I need to keep myself busy and active as well as being in touch with my emotions. Also I am making exercise form a part of my daily routine. Having said that, I keep in mind that the odd day off from counting calories or not exercising doesn't have to mean the end of my weight loss.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?
Living on an isolated property 214 kms from the nearest town makes it hard when you run out of some foods and also there is limited variety at the local store. Having our own meat is a blessing and a curse as I can't request low fat mince etc. Lack of company/inspiration has been a problem in the past, but that's where the online support from CalorieKing.com.au has been so fantastic for me.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Don't throw in the towel after one or two bad days. It's like horseriding, after a fall pick yourself up and start again. It takes time to form good habits both in eating and exercise. There are no 'bad' foods, just foods you shouldn't eat too much of every day.
How do you feel now that you're achieving success?
I feel proud of myself and I don't mind looking at myself in the mirror so much. It is exciting to feel clothes getting looser and to plan buying new ones.
