What are your weight-control goals?

Educating myself and and keeping my eye on the prize. I've learned to deal with my emotions and face them head on rather than dealing with boredom, pmt, frustration or any emotion with food and swapping that to deal with the feeling, have a glass of water, do something active and maybe a piece of fruit if I really am hungry. A complete turn around from the past!

What is your motivation for losing weight?

Before I started CalorieKing I had already lost 5 kg. I was so ashamed to have tipped the scales at 102kg. I realised that the best birthday gift I can give my husband is a better me. SO I choose to work toward that. I also have 3 kids aged 4, 2 and 1 and want them to grow up with a healthy view of food, and exercise. I'm pretty keen to fit into some lovely clothes from a fave designer of mine and want to make working out a part of my life as I've always admired others that do.

What is your weight-loss method?

Diet and exercise. Complete rocket science. Haha, no really CK has really helped me have the accountability with a weigh-in from home rather than a meeting and educating me with the caloric intake needed for my body. I make sure that if I go out, I take food with me or know my options of where I am going, and stay prepared at home with keeping the fridge stocked with salad and veg and fruit so there's no excuse to go for a high carb or high fat option. It's important to know your food weakness too.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?

The biggest challenge has been patience for me. I have a goal to be at by my husbands birthday but, the reality is that plateaus happen that we need to push through and a lifestyle change does not happen in a week, it happens over your life, unlike the diets available.

What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

Keep your eye on the prize! Health, wellness, nice clothes, confidence are all more important than the immediate buzz from the fatty or sugary food. Remember that everyone's journey is different too.

How do you feel now that you're achieving success?

Like a new woman! I am so proud of myself. I have a new confidence that doesn't come from the nice clothes or slimmer body alone, but from success and seeing that I can do it. I am proud of how my children have embraced exercise into their lives and will happily ask me for salad!

How have the products or services offered by helped you to lose weight?

I have recommended CK to many friends as it has really helped me to meal plan, encouraged me when I weigh in each week and I love the forums too and the ability to connect with other people that are on the journey. It's really nice to see my BMI right in front of me too, which is a huge boost to keep at it!
