What were your weight-control goals?
To eat less, to drink less alcohol, and to exercise more.
What motivated you to lose weight?
To look good for a girlfriend's 50th birthday (which was six months away) where I knew I would run into a lot of old friends and acquaintances who only every identified with me as "the fat chick'.
What was your weight-loss method?
Eat breakfast everyday. Exercise everyday (30-60 mins). Get 8 hours sleep a night. Drink 8 glasses of water everyday. Try for 3 alcohol free days a week. Try and stay under 1450 cals per day. Visualise myself in a fabulous outfit whenever the going got a bit tough. Totally forgiving myself for going a bit mad some days - and getting straight back on the horse the next day.

What were some obstacles you encountered while losing weight?
Work social occasions were a big one - followed by a habit of mine to "reward myself' constantly for just getting thru another working week. I used to indulge in cheese platters and lots of wine on a weekly/fortnightly basis. Now it's actually gotta be a "special occasion" like Xmas or Easter or a birthday for me to indulge and to be honest - looking forward to a special occasion is waaaay better than just eating heaps of stuff just because it's Friday. It's actually special now.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Incidental exercise is the key... live in the moment... if you are hanging out the washing make it a chance to burn cals. Walk - just walk more and further everyday... up the stairs... around the office... around the house with weights in your hand... suck in your gut at the traffic lights or squeeze your bum cheeks while on the computer... IT ALL ADDS UP PRETTY QUICKLY!!
How do you feel now that you've lost weight?
FANTASTIC!!! Shopping was a chore and another situation that would bring on a bout of self loathing. Now - It's hard to get me out of the change room. I love the very mirrors that used to make me so sad and depressed. Now I try on all types of clothes and giggle whenever I slide into another size 12 outfit - after years of barely squeezing into a 16-18. It's bliss.....
How have the products or services offered by CalorieKing.com.au helped you to lose weight?
The food diary was an absolute godsend - and free to boot! The forums made me feel part of a bigger community of people who were in the "same boat" and other people's success stories, struggles and tips were a tremendous support and comfort along the way. CalorieKing rocks and I would cheerfully spruik its benefits to anyone who asks "How did you do it"?
You too can be a success story!
