What are your weight-control goals?

To overall be healthier and fitter, to fit into a size 10 pair of pants and eventually get a flat stomach :)

What is your motivation for losing weight?

My motivation was too be healthier and have a nice body. Being a 16-year old girl, it wasn't normal to be 109kg and there are a lot of pressures to look thin etc. But mostly i just wanted to fit into nice clothes and be happier.

What is your weight-loss method?

I record everything that i eat into CalorieKing. I exercise 5-6 times a week with 4 of those days being cycle classes or circuits and the rest weight training. I also play basketball, so that helps a lot. Usually I'll stick to a strict diet during the week, then at the weekend just cut loose and have that low-fat chocolate bar or a chocolate drink, and eat pasta etc.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?

Some of the obstacles include:
- Finding time to exercise with school and a part time job
- Steering clear of unhealthy foods at parties etc.

What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

Some tips I have for others is not to deprive yourself of certain foods. I still eat a lot of carbohydrates but manage to burn it off with exercise. It's ridiculous; these low-carb diets don't work. I proved them wrong. You have to treat yourself every week to help you stay on track and having take-away once a month wont hurt you. I've eaten bad foods over the weekends and then got back on track Monday morning, its really easy and I'm still lost weight. Also having a low-fat dessert every night wont hurt. Really, exercise is the key thing and just eat a well balanced diet.

How do you feel now that you're achieving success?

I feel great, I really can't begin to explain it. I look and feel healthier, I love getting compliments all the time!
