What are your weight-control goals?
My weight loss goals are to reach 80 kg and to be healthier and fitter.
What is your motivation for losing weight?
It is time. I have been overweight most of my life. Once I got married and had kids, I decided that if I was going to be around when they grew up I had to start looking after myself.
What is your weight-loss method?
There are no hidden secrets in losing weight, you have to eat less and exercise more! In my case I had to change my whole schedule and make sure that I made time to exercise and that I was eating because I was hungry and not just because I was tired. I also had to think about what I was eating and stop grabbing food from the lunch bar, because I was in a rush.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?
The two biggest obstacles I had in losing wieght were my work and myself. I run my own business and have done for many years and always worked long hours, up to sixteen hours a day. That makes it hard to find time to look after yourself. To make weight loss even harder I love food.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
The biggest tip is that you have to want to lose weight. I have half heartedly tried for many years, but this time I wanted to succeed. Don't be afraid to keep going if you fall of the wagon. I had a time this year when I was depressed from problems at work and went back to my old habits and promptly put back on 12 kgs. When I finally got it back together I had to work to take the weight off again, but it was worth it. In my case I believe that I will have to watch my weight and habits for the rest of my life to keep it off.
How do you feel now that you're achieving success?
Fantastic! I still have a long way to go, but I feel more energised and am definitely more active. I never realised how sluggish I had become.
