What are your weight-control goals?
To get down to 85-80kg, and to lose my gut - it was a bad look.
What is your motivation for losing weight?
To get back to a healthy weight. I was far too overweight and couldn't keep up with my kids, which made both me and them feel and look bad.
What is your weight-loss method?
A nurse (who has become a friend) put me on to CalorieKing.com.au while I was in hospital with a heart scare. Following the meal plan really got me motivated. Eating low-fat was hard at first but the forums kept me on track.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?
My kids like eating high-fat foods (such as McDonalds). It was hard at first to try to get them to eat low-fat foods, and they still won't eat veggies if they can see them. I now make my own rissoles and have a butcher who understands eating low-fat and trims all his meat.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Don't deny yourself. I did this to start with. I craved chocolate and tried not to have as it would break my diet. My new friends on the forum helped a lot as they had been there. A good tip is to eat everything in moderation. I had a little chocolate and was happy, so I now have low-fat (Weight Watchers) choc-chip cookies twice a week. Don't deny yourself as the craving only gets worse but remember eat low-fat and in moderation. When you're really hungry, try water or fruit.
How do you feel now that you're achieving success?
Great! I have more energy, and I can now lose soccer to my two 11-year olds and not feel too bad!
