What are your weight-control goals?
To understand food and how it affects my body. To log everything I eat into the CalorieKing Food and Exercise Diary, whether it was a good food day or not. I need to be honest with myself and know that the food choices I have made in the past have gotten me to where I am now. I need to make better choices now and always.
What is your motivation for losing weight?
I want to be able to fit nicely into a race suit and be able to fit into the race seat of my partner's Street Stock racing car. I want to go car racing and feel good about it. I want to go shopping in a store and not have to look at the back of a shelf to find my size. I want to feel good and smile when I look in the mirror.
What is your weight-loss method?
It's simple - I log my food on the CalorieKing Australia website, and make sure I follow the dietary recommendations carefully. I make the healthiest choice on offer.
I go to the gym at least three times a week.
I drink at least two litres of water a day.
I do not berate myself when I have something I know I shouldn't. If I 'fall off the wagon' I pick myself up, dust myself off and keep on going.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?
I have a mental illness and sometimes that can cause problems in my life. I have good days and not so good days. On the not so good days I do the best I can and make up for it on the good days.
My family aren't very supportive. Their comments about my weight want me to rebel and stay that way forever. Now I just kindly tell them that I am doing the best I can. I don't get upset over it, and I don't let them get to me.
My partner tries his hardest to help me, but he quite often forgets and reverts back to bringing home lollies, cake and bourbon. He is sweet and I love him, but wish he would understand that I don't need the temptation.
What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?
Follow CalorieKing Australia's guidelines; they know what they are on about.
Talk to other members on the forums and let them support you through it all. They are great.
Do the best you can. We are not perfect creatures; we all have good and bad days. It's what you do with the good days that make up for the bad ones.
How do you feel now that you're achieving success?
I feel amazing! I can see the results of the hard work I have done, and it just gets better every week.
I have more energy than I've ever had, and I can tie my shoelaces without doing the shoelace boogie!! I am so proud of my achievements so far!
