What are your weight-control goals?

I want to be happy and to live life to the fullest. I want to be able to run around with my son, and for him to be proud of his mum.

What is your motivation for losing weight?

I have always been overweight, but it wasn't until I had my son that I decided to get really serious about losing weight. Having my son was like a wake up call for me: I realised I was staring down the barrel of serious diseases such as diabetes or heart disease and the thought of not being around to watch my son grow up got me motivated to do something about my weight and to get my life back.

I also would like to be a role model for other overweight people, especially my dad because he is very overweight. I would like to show him if I can do it so can he.

What is your weight-loss method?

I have a great personal trainer, Jared, whom I see him once a week and do strength training with. I also walk up to 90 mins every day and add swimming and cardio workouts to my week. Jared's help has been great. He keeps me focused on my end goal.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?

I find that eating out is the hardest thing but I never lose sight of my goal. I stay focused and just think of all the hard work I have done.

What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

*Do it today, don't wait for tomorrow.
*Keep telling yourself you are worth it.
*Believe in yourself -  you can do it.
*Get a personal trainer to help support and guide you.

How do you feel now that you're achieving success?

I feel alive again. I feel that I am being a good role model for my son and family.
