What are your weight-control goals?

I want to look and feel good whilst finding a weight that I can maintain with relative ease when keeping to my new-found healthy lifestyle. I know that being overweight has always affected my confidence levels and it's time to turn that around.

What is your motivation for losing weight?

I've never been skinny or 'average'. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember and more than anything I want to lose weight whilst I'm still young, whilst I can go out there and enjoy being a fit and healthy young adult. I don't want to regret being overweight all my life, plus if I start now I hope I can make lasting changes that will keep me on this healthy lifestyle throughout my years.

What is your weight-loss method?

For the most part I've stuck strongly to CK's balanced dieting plan, making sure that my energy intake is balanced appropriately between fats, carbs and protein. I plan most of each day's meals the night before to ensure that I don't exceed my calorie intake for the day. And I always make sure to exercise at least 30 minutes each day.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?

Living with my family has been my greatest obstacle as I can't completely control what sort of food is available to eat within the household. It's been so hard to resist a couple of home-baked cookies or the cupboard stuffed with junk food that mum has been purchased with the grocery shopping. I do the shopping with mum most weeks now though, and although I can't stop her buying a fair bit of unhealthy 'treats', it's certainly better than it once was!

What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

Mix things up as often as possible! One of the most exciting things about losing weight, for myself at least, has been the chance to eat a whole range of different foods and recipes I'd never tried before. I've found these new foods to be far better than the "bad" foods I used to eat before. These days, my favourite treat is a packet of cheese rice wheels (300KJ), whereas it used to be a cream-filled jam donut (1000KJ+).

How do you feel now that you're achieving success?

I'm definitely so much more comfortable about my body than I used to be and I feel my confidence levels increasing with each day. Feeling fit is a new experience for me and I'm loving it. I still have a little way to go but I know I can get there with the help of CK.
