What are your weight-control goals?

I'm hoping to get back to 55kg. This is the weight I was at 18 years old. Plus I'm getting married in July 2007, so I have a target date to focus on.

What is your motivation for losing weight?

My motivation is to show everyone around me I can be skinny again. Also at work, I found I wasn't the only one trying to lose weight. I have a few co-workers trying to lose weight too. They are all using different methods, so we have made a challenge for ourselves to see whose method will work, while motivating each other.

What is your weight-loss method?

I work in a very busy office so I only get to eat a little bit at a time. At my desk I have healthy treats to help me keep going until lunch and the end of the day. For lunch, I take a soup or something healthy from home, or I order a salad sandwich from the canteen.

What obstacles have you encountered while losing weight?

I didn't get much support from anyone before, especially from my family. All I got was minor teasing and people telling me what I should be doing and what not to eat, which brought my self esteem down a lot more than what it was.

What tips do you have for others who are trying to lose weight?

Don't make it like a chore. Look at what you're eating now and do minor changes a bit at a time. Never rush it because it can back fire.

How do you feel now that you're achieving success?

I feel a lot healthier and more active than before, and I also feel a lot more confident knowing that I can reach my goal. It has also made me more determined to keep going because I know I haven't got long to go until I can wear my size 10 clothes again.
