Guest chef Jane Barnes has put together this mouth-watering turkey recipe. Great for those who want to stay with tradition this Christmas but would prefer less fat and less calories.
1 turkey buff or stuffed breast roll
8 medium potatoes, just cooked in boiling water
1 cup cranberry sauce
50 g toasted almonds
2 cup gravy made from gravy mix
Heat oven to 220 degrees C.
Instead of making your own gravy, use a commercial gravy mix. This will be much lower in fat. You can also pre-prepare stuffing to accompany the turkey. When you make the stuffing, use milk and eggs to combine the ingredients, instead of butter or oil.
