Ingredients:

4 pears

4 cloves garlic

1 tsp white pepper

1/4 cup extra light virgin olive oil

1 cup chicken stock, salt-reduced*

2 Tbsp white wine vinegar

1 Tbsp seeded mustard*

6 sprigs fresh thyme

2 Tbsp maple syrup


Directions:

Preheat oven to 200ºC. Peel pears and place in a deep baking tray. In a medium bowl combine garlic, white pepper, olive oil, chicken stock and white wine vinegar.

Stir through seeded mustard and thyme sprigs. Pour marinade over the pears and roast in preheated oven for 35 - 40 minutes. Baste occasionally. In the last 10 minutes of cooking drizzle with maple syrup. Garnish with extra thyme sprigs, if desired.

Variations:

Delicious served with beef sausages. Serving suggestion not included in nutritional information.
