Pork and Apple Butterfly Steaks

Scrumptious layers of pork, moist apple and hot melted cheese.

Suggestions:

Serve steaks with steamed potatoes and carrots.

Ingredients:

4 lean pork butterfly or loin steaks

1 cracked pepper to taste

1 Spanish onion, cored and thinly sliced

1 Granny Smith apple, cored and thinly sliced

3/4 cup white wine

4 slices Australian Swiss-style cheese


Directions:

In a non-stick frypan brown pork on both sides. Season with black pepper, remove and keep warm.

Cook onion in pan until softened.

Add the apple and wine to the pan and simmer for 5 minutes or until reduced by half.

Return steaks to pan and top each steak with onion and apple and a slice of cheese. Cover and simmer until cheese melts.

Variations:
