Ingredients:

500 g lean pork mince

1 egg (50g), beaten

1 large onion, grated

2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1 tsp worcestershire sauce, salt-reduced

1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and cut into 4 thick rings

4 slices reduced-fat mozzarella cheese, cut to same size as apple rings

1/2 cup flour, for coating

1 coating of olive oil spray

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the mince, egg, onion, parsley and sauce. With wet hands, shape into eight patties, 1 cm larger than the apple rings. Place a slice of apple on four of the patties, followed by the cheese. Place remaining patties on top and pinch edges to seal. Roll each patty lightly in flour.

Lightly spray a char-grill pan with olive oil spray and heat, or heat barbecue or grill. Cook for 8 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.

Variations:

Serve with a salad or on a barbecued burger roll. Serving suggestion not included in nutritional information.
