Ingredients:

500 g lean beef topside mince

1 onion, finely chopped

1 tsp crushed garlic

1/4 cup tomato paste

400 g can tomatoes, with their juice

1 tsp sugar

250 g spaghetti

Directions:

Lightly spray a large, deep frying pan with cooking spray and heat on high. Fry onion and garlic for 1-2 minutes.

Add mince stirring constantly until well browned. Note: mince should be well cooked until no longer pink.

Stir in remaining ingredients except spaghetti. When boiling, reduce to low heat, cover and simmer (cooking gently at a level where tiny bubbles rise to the surface) for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to packet directions. Drain.

Divide cooked spaghetti between four plates and top with sauce.

Yeah I agree with littlepotts, it''s really great to add vegies! I chop up broccoli and grate some carrot and zucchini, and also add some fresh ginger too! I find it adds a lot of flavour and goodness!

Spag Bol is a classic but i spice it up with four bean mix, carrot, spinch and zucchini i just place all of them in the food processor so they are quite fine, ( I have fussy people who dont like vegis at home) and just add then at the same time as the mince and it is a lot healther and bulkier so i can freeze some for later.
