Chilli Octopus Stir-Fry

Stir fry octopus in a chilli marinade.

Suggestions:

You will need to marinate this recipe for at least one hour.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup white wine

2 Tbsp olive oil

1 lemon, juice and grated rind only

1 orange, juice and grated rind only

1 tsp grated ginger

2 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce

700 g prepared baby octopus

3 cup cooked Sunrice Jasmine rice


Directions:

Combine wine, oil, lemon and orange juice and rind, ginger, chilli sauce and octopus in a large bowl and toss well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until required.

Heat wok over a high heat. Stir-fry octopus in its marinade for 4 - 5 minutes, but do not overcook octopus or it will toughen.

Stir in rice, allow to heat through and serve.

Ergh. Nothing like trying to sit down to a plate of squidgy baby octopus just sitting there on a bed of plain rice.. I followed this recipe to the tee. The marinade tasted like grated orange peel, the octopus were tough & chewy even though they werent over cooked.. It was just really weird without any veggies. Such a waste of time & money, not impressed. On a positive though my dog really liked it.
