Hokkien Noodles with stir-fry chicken strips, flat mushrooms, bok choy and bean sprouts.

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp oil

400 g stir-fry lean chicken strips

1 cup sliced flat mushrooms

4 cup chicken stock, salt-reduced

1 bunch bok choy, stems sliced

250 g Hokkien noodles

1 cup bean sprouts

1 tsp sesame oil


Directions:

Heat oil in a wok. Add chicken strips and cook until well browned. Remove and keep warm.

Cook mushrooms, stock and bok choy stems for 5 minutes. Add noodles. Cook a further 3 minutes. Add chicken, bok choy leaves, bean sprouts and sesame oil. Cook until leaves and sprouts have started to wilt.

Spoon into serving bowls. Serve immediately.

I made this with plain long noodles with seame oil and light soy sauce tasted much better

I added some fresh ginger and garlic and a splash of light soy sauce and it was great!

I also found it bland, will add some chilli next time.

What did I do wrong as well as I thought it very bland and not overly pleasant. It was a shame as it looked great but the flavour was wanting, I even added some chilli. Any suggestions?

Yummy, I added some fresh chilli and soy sauce & garnished with some omlette strips and spring onion for a bit of extra flavour.
