Teriyaki is a Japanese flavoured sauce. You can use it to marinate most foods - seafoods, meats and even vegetables.

Ingredients:

600 g cup mushrooms, sliced

1/3 cup thick teriyaki marinade

2 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 Tbsp brown sugar

2 Tbsp olive oil

4 sirloin steaks, char-grilled to serve

1 salt and freshly ground pepper

Directions:

Place the mushrooms into a large bowl. Combine the teriyaki marinade, sweet chilli sauce, garlic and brown sugar in a jug. Pour over the mushrooms and toss well to combine. Cover and allow to stand for 20 minutes, if time permits.

Heat a barbecue or frying pan on medium-high. Add oil and mushrooms, cook, tossing often, for 3 - 5 minutes or until mushrooms are golden and just tender. Season with salt and pepper and serve over char-grilled steak.

Variations:

Serve with crispy roast chat potatoes if desired. Serving suggestion not included in nutritional information.
