Spray a square nonstick baking pan (20.5cm x 20.5cm) with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, blend well. Pour batter into pan and bake 20-30 minutes until cooked. To test if batter is cooked, insert a toothpick. If it comes out clean, brownie is cooked.
Remove from oven and let cool for five minutes in pan.
Gently remove from pan; place on wire rack and when cool, sprinkle with icing sugar if desired. Cut into eight squares.
Variations:

By: billy74 - 2009-09-08 When I saw the mixture I was sure this was not ging to work. But on the contrary - they were awesome! I am gonna try them with gluten free flour today to see if they are as good :o)
By: kimby83 - 2009-07-09 WOW! I made this recipe tonight, and I really didn''t have a lot of faith in it at all - when I put the apple into the mixture it went very watery and I didn''t think it would set properly. I used 2 apples that I peeled, cut up and cooked in the microwave instead of using the pie apple - and a little of the water from the cooked apples went into the batter. 20 mins in the oven at 180degrees and it was absolutely perfect! :) what a scrumptious low calorie treat!! :)

By: marlingirl - 2008-09-20 I made this recipe last night, and I am really pleased with it! The brownies are not particularly sweet but the pie apple makes them super moist. My bf loved them!
