Cottage-style Scones

Ingredients:

320 g self-raising flour

80 mL lowfat milk

2 tsp Orgran "No Egg" Egg Replacer

50 g reduced fat margarine

20 g Orgran Fat Replacer Cream, pre-prepared

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

35 g caster sugar


Directions:

Preheat oven to 225C.

Dry-blend flour, salt and baking powder.

Soften margarine and add to mix.

Add sugar and mix well.

Gradually add the milk and mix to form a dough.

Lightly roll out dough, stamp out into approx. 65mm diameter cirlces using a crimped cutter.

Bake for 9 minutes. Serve with margarine or jam.

Variations:

You can substitute Orgran "No Egg" Egg Replacer with two eggs, but cholesterol will increase to 70mg.
