For a workout you don’t have to plan, slap one of these DVDs into your DVD player and presto! You have an easy way to keep fit even when it’s pouring down with rain outside.

Even though the weather might be bad, your body still needs regular physical activity to be healthy. Try and get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on most days of the week. For extra health benefits, if you can, also do some physical activity that makes you huff and puff. If you haven't exercised for a long time, see your doctor before you start.

If You Won’t Go to the Gym…Bring the Gym to You

Your local gym can be a great way to keep fit and make friends, but when it’s cold outside, it may be tempting to put-off going until “tomorrow”. To make sure “tomorrow” doesn’t become “when it stops raining”, bring the gym to you!

Your local classifieds often have people selling fitness equipment at bargain prices. Take advantage of this and buy a few pieces of equipment that you know you enjoy using at the gym. Set-up an area of your lounge room, or wherever you have space. It’s harder to say to yourself ‘I can’t be bothered going to the gym’ if the gym is right there in your lounge room!
