| Coping with commuting |
| I drive about 50 mins in the morning, and an hour 10 in the afternoon, to and from the city. Audio books are the best thing ever. I plug my iphone into the jack in my stereo (Yaris has one built in) and I've listened to some great books. I pick long ones like the Game of Thrones series, Stephen King's new one 11.22.63 (30 hours of awesome you must read or listen to), and currently I'm listening to Bryce Courtney's the Potato Factory when I'm alone, and Reamde by Neil Stephenson when my son is commuting with me for TAFE 3 times a week (a kind of gaming/techno thriller that appeals to both of us). I love music as much as the next person, but the same songs over and over day after day with the radio announcers hyper annoying talking in between was just too much. I find the Audio Books keep my mind engaged, and if it's a really good story I actually look forward to "me" time in the car. Remove all the "warning" labels and give natural selection a chance. 121 120 119 118 117 [116.4] 115 114 113 112 111 110 109 108 107 106 105 104 103 102 101 100 |
