So, heres a little thing I thought would be a fun way to have a wealth of positivity to motivate us all. You simply think of 5 things that have happened in your day, or week, or whatever that have been good. They can be related to your weight loss, a goal you have a achieved, or just something that was awesome that mad you happy, gave you a chuckle, etc.

My five things for today
1. Setting myself some goals - good because I feel like I'm going somewhere
2. Weighing myself and seeing the scales are down a little bit again!!
3. The Kookaburras chuckling away above me as I walked to the pool
4. Rain falling on my head while I was swimming (and the fact that it stopped before I had to walk home)
5. Something I saw about daylight savings which said "only the government would think that if you cut a foot of the bottom of a blanket, and sew it onto the top, you will have a longer blanket"

Yay - oh, I got my hair done yesterday, for the first time in months and months, and am amazed by the new awesomeness of it, and the good feeling of being able to brush it without worrying that my head is going to be pulled off coz it's so tangly :D

Mine had been the first time since October... she put the dye in, and then tied it up in a bun on top of my head, and it took me a minute of, WHAT ON EARTH HAS SHE PUT ON TOP OF MY HEAD ITS SO HEAVY, before I realised it was my own hair weighing me down... Definitely overdue.

Five things for the week:

excellent sleep all week, almost like comatosed
progressive push-ups fun
getting back on the bike
being able to do some craft again, woohoo
giving my neighbour a lovely surprise gift

SYMENTHIA, I have had long hair a bit like yours, very thick and heavy, and at one stage I went to a physio to get my neck checked out as it was getting progressively worse (I assumed those were the consequences of a serious car accident I had a few years ago). She said it came from whiplash, and would just get worse, blah blah blah.

I had my hair cut off one day... and all the problems went!
Made me wonder of course how many women suffer uncecessarily...

Goals for week 6/12

record everything
2 litres H2O daily
Progressive Push-Ups

My week/month:

1. Finished up at work a week ago after being there for almost 7 years.
2. Feeling the nervousness but excitedness of starting a new job tomorrow!
3. Losing almost two kilos due to a gastro bug I've had since Friday...
4. The utter joy I get spending time with my pup Jack, he's everything I need
5. Yeah I'm a lover of a clean, tidy & sunny home - everything is in order & I've got the rest of the evening to sit back, relax & watch a DVD with Jack, pure bliss.

Ok I'm kidding about nubmer 3 - replace with:
3. Being so happy about where I'm at with my weight, keeping it off & maintainig pretty well for almost 4 months. Early days I know but the ups & downs are worth it. I reflect on this every single day, multiple times & I couldn't be happier. It's my birthday in two weeks & the fact that I won't be over weight for it is present enough...oh & I've picked out a great dress to wear out which is all part of the cool factor =D

Keep posting everyone, I love reading your motivations & successes :)

:smile1: Sam

98kg (Jan '09)...............79kg (Oct '10)...............57.4kg (Oct '11) :heart2:

Maintaining - aim for 25% BF (Sep ’11 60.5kg = 29%)

My week:
1. Walking 21.1 km yesterday in 2 h 58min.....tired sore legs today though!
2. Running 5.2km earlier in the week without stopping (in January it was 2 lamp posts!)
3. Seeing the scales continue in the right direction.
4. Having fabulous friends over for dinner and having enough calories to share some wine and dessert and not go over :-) (the 21.1km will do that!)
5. Sharing a cosy wet day with my husband and 3 kids....movies, popcorn and jeans I can fit again!

This week or next I'm looking forward to picking up my 11.1kg daughter and knowing that is the weight I've lost - mind blowing!

Julie

Seeing some real progress with my body building.
Feeling a sense of accomplishment for sticking with it for over a yr.
Catching up with some awesome pple this friday night.
Turning 42 in 10 days and feeling fabulous
My kids being really impressed with my changed lifestyle and the attitude that comes with that change lol.

MBAYLISS what a great idea to do this thread, there isn't enough positivity out there these days and so i'm loving that we can share here. I find the more positive pple are the easier it is to replicate, something like it being contagious.
Enjoy your day everyone.

I needed this thread. I've had a rough week so my five things are over the last month rather than the last week.

1. My eldest son telling me that I organised the 'best birthday party ever'!
2. My youngest son actually eating his dinner without having to fight him to eat.
3. Seeing the weight going down even if it is slowly. Better than gaining I say.
4. Finally making a decision to buy a new car. We pick it up on Monday and I'm so excited.
5. Found a new iphone game to play and it puts a smile on my face every time I play it. It's lots of fun. It's called 'Draw Something'. If you want a bit of a giggle, download it.

My five things for today:

1. Seeing my son, our dog and our cat all waiting at the bedroom window for me when I got home from work. Made me smile.
2. Finding out that our state manager is putting me forward for further training and promotion.
3. Beating a goal of mine on the bike at the gym
4. Cooking spaghetti for dinner and having my son tell me it was the 'best ever'
5. (this one will sound odd...) walking to the shops during my lunch break instead of driving!

My five things for this week:

1. Realising that at 20 years old, I had never eaten risotto, and so making a yummy chicken and mushroom one with only just over 400 cals for a big serving (posted the recipe on the low carb recipe thread).
2. Learning to do tricep push-ups (close hands). Even if I can only do a few, at least I've got the technique right!
3. Realising that I can touch my fingertips to the ground when doing a forward bend. Before I started losing weight I could only get a tiny bit past my ankles- must be because there's not as much tummy in the way now! :D
4. Tomorrow will be the first day I can sleep past 7am in almost three weeks. Even if I wake up early out of habit I'm just going to lie there.
5. Starting a basic weights/strength training routine at home. Tricep kickbacks (might swap to extensions), tricep pushups, legs-up crunches, side crunches for obliques, squats, bicep curls, stretches.
5. Discovering semi-dried tomatoes. Yummo!

My life is pretty :( py at the moment - so this thread is brilliant to help me focus on the positives.

1. Hovering at the top of my healthy weight zone for the past four months (so much better than what I've done in the past where I've gotten down to this weight and straight back up again.)

2. Hubby continuing to be pretty stoked at the lines I took through a series of sweeping bends on the motorbike. (it was last weekend and he still has a grin on his face about it.)

3. Having completed my first 50k ride on the pushbike and realising that over the last 9 months I have ridden 1300ks in total.

4. Cooking a batch of scones that turned out picture perfect and tasted fantastic.

5. Fitting back into that little black dress that I bought 15 years ago and hadn't been able to zip up for years.

I have a few things for this week or so...

1. Hitting the half way mark in my journey this morning :-) 14.3 kg gone, 14.3 to go. woo hoo.
2. Finally getting out of the obese bmi and into just the overweight.
3. Running 9.45km without stopping (previous best had been 5.6km).
4. Holding an easter egg hunt for the neighbours and kids and not indulging in any of the treats or baking (I may have had a couple of wines though...:$
5. Off to a weekend at the beach, followed by 4 child free nights away celebrating 10 years married with hubby.

Life is good :)

JK
