We're still waiting for an iPhone app and an Android app, let alone an iPad app! I doubt it will happen.

You can use MyFitnessPal offline, and it's a good app, but otherwise, just continue to use the website when you're in wifi range.

I did contact the 'owners' or whatever they would be called to see if they were interesting in me making something for them, however they said they have already made apps and are in the process of making more apps...

Or something along those lines, I deleted the message so I forget the exact wording.

I have a cheat-app on my iPhone which i could release to the App Store for free - it doesn't do much, it's more a convenience app.

You login once and have the option to save your details, so every subsequent time you don't need to enter them (that's what irritated me the most) and a simple tab bar along the bottom with a link to the diary, forums, and Check-Ins.

If there's any interest I'll push it to the App Store soon. It in no way offers whatever CK would if they release an App, as I don't have access to their 'behind the scenes stuff'. But it makes quickly popping into the site to record calories a lot easier.

ETA: re the offline stuff, I tend to write it all down in the Notes of my iPhone if I don't have connection for some reason, but it can be hard if you're wanting to do a check of what cals you have left etc...

There hasn't been any new software for years has there? Ever since the site became free all that went out the window. I would prefer to have kept paying my membership and had facilitators who actively provided a service, including software development. This site really is the best of it's kind, and it's a shame it has become less than it could be.

I just had a look at the software page and find it quite ordinary that they still have that Palm OS and Pocket PC stuff there. And at such a steep price. I doubt anyone would use it now even if it was free. I wonder if the desktop version needs Windows 3.1 to work.

Remove all the "warning" labels and give natural selection a chance.

well that answered my 'why isn't there an app' question!

For the record, I'd pay for a good app too. Vexing that there isn't one...

Today is my first day of using My Fitness Pal, after years of using the CK diary. They had all the brands I typed in, including two brand sof food that CK don't even have in their database online.

Only part of MFP I don't like is that I don't seem to be able to choose how many calories I want to aim for each day. No way I'm ever going to do 1200 calories a day!!

I have recently started using MFP... only thing I find annoying is that sometimes there can be two or more of the same thing with differing calorie amounts... sometimes best to check the packaging to make sure you pick the correct one, I haven't worked out how to modify the calorie value yet.

I do like the option to just add calorie intake and calories burnt if you know them, makes it a little more correct.

I don't like MFP at all. It is what I use on my phone, begrudgingly, because I can't use CK unless I log onto the full website on my phone. It is ok I suppose but I still much prefer the CK diary.

:heart1:

With MFP there seem to be less options with amounts. Like I measured ten grams of peanut butter but it said only multiples of tablespoons.

Try 'MyNetDiary' HD PRO for iPad and iPhone. Heaps of functionality including using your camera as a barcode scanner!! I use it all the time now....
