I'm feeling a little hard done by for two reasons. Just purchased the software but:

1) cannot download any mealplans 'No Meal Plan Available for This Date'

2) the database is not the same as online (yes I have Updated my Database). e.g. Dairy Farmers, Yoghurt: Thick & Creamy, Smooth Fruits, Orchard Mangoes & Nectarines. This is online, but not in the version I have purchased.

Why?

Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but why would you buy a version when you can get it for free? Is there something better about it?

Well, actually, you can use it offline, installing it on a laptop (taking it where you may not have internet access) ...

I believe that you may need to turn ON meal plans from within your online account to be able to access it. From memory (I don't use it) I think it's somewhere in teh profile section?? (someone correct me if I'm wrong please)

Personally, I purchased the Palm version as well as the desktop one. I publish to the web so my doctor and dietician can check up on my progress and make improvement suggestions.

The databases are different, even between desktop and Palm as well as Web. There are good points and bad points. Be aware also that your 'Journal" entries do NOT publish to your blog online. And there is only one way synch. Desktop to Web, not Web to desktop

Ultimately, it is a personal choice.

Personally, I find it is so much easier to use the offline diary. I can keep everything up to date, even if there are issues in accessing the internet on a particular day.

Also, the software has the ability to quickly drag-and-drop meals, and to organise my custom meals into lunch, dinner, snacks etc, which makes meal planning really easy.

Thank you Ms Purple :)

I was wondering if it might be suitable for my uni student daughter - especially as she has to pay for internet access at uni.

Hi Limemirage,

Are you using Windows Vista ?
Do you login to Windows Vista as 'administrator' or as a user account ?

If you have administrator access, try the following.

Right click on the shortcut to the CK Software program and select PROPERTIES

Click on the COMPATIBILITY tab at the top of the screen

Then select 'Run this program as an administrator' (at the bottom of the screen)

Click APPLY and then OK

Hope this helps.

Are there any plans to provide anymore updates for the food database, I can't remember the last time that an update was provided.

I do take advantage of the custom foods option, but surely an update once every couple of months wouldn't be too much to ask
