Returning member, trying to jump back on the wagon!

Hi all :)

I'm back after around 6 months of yoyo-ing and giving up, finding I need some support and this site was a fantastic place to get it before - very much regret giving up as I've gone back to my very first Start Weight of around 115 - 117kg (not sure as it's been 3 weeks since i've weighed myself, as I maaay have had a tanty during my "time off" and thrown out my scales lol).

Anyway, now I'm in Panic Mode as I've been asked to be a bridesmaid in October for my best friend in the world and I don't want to do so, looking like this... So I have a new motivation, and alot of determination, and although realistically I know I'm not going to be a size 10 by then, I can at least feel good about myself if i'm well on track, and maybe combat a few extra curves!!

Looking forward to meeting some new people in a similar boat! :heart2: Lisa.

Welcome back Lisa,

You're at the right place for motivation and support. Maybe do the CK Univesity again? There's so much great info there.

Remember, if nothing changes, nothing changes!

Welcome back.

As you know, healthy sustainable weight loss is 500gm-1kg per week, but as you are starting off at (presumably, depending on your height) a higher weight, I think it could certainly be reasonable to aim high for the 100kg mark by October. Of course, no, you won't be a size 10, but you can still look fabulous and beautiful no matter what size you are!

As Julie suggested, maybe do CK Uni again, and start your journey right now! Don't wait til tomorrow to start recording your food and exercise.

Make sure you're equipped with all the tools you need (ie kitchen scales, HRM, exercise gear) to get your weight loss started right away, aim for your 3 green ticks, and follow CKs calorie intake recommendation.

If tough love is your thing, come on over to the Police Thread, our motto is No bullsh*t, boots up the ass allowed! We'll certainly keep you accountable and encourage you along the way.

Good luck!

Sugar-free, because I'm sweet enough...

Motivation can't be forced nor found. You do the hard yards first, then the motivation will come.

Hi all

Lisa, you have a friend! I like you are now back on the bandwagon! I have been doing Calorie King on and off since April last year. When really focussed, I have had great success. I actually got down to 77kg back in April this year. But then my husband lost his job, work pressure built up, I felt let down by family and been a mother of two young daughters, one (19 months) who has decided she doesnt want tyo sleep through the night anymore and all of a sudden, I just ate stupidly, chcolate became my saviour and I have been eating a stupid amount of it each day to "deal" with these issues. As a result, I have put on over 7kg in nearly 3 months. What gets me is that I know what I am eating is terrible for me, I can see it in myself and in my clothes but I still ate the chocolate.
However as I sit here at my desk, early on a Monday morning, I realise today is the day. This is the 1st day in a long time, that I got up when the alarm went off without feeling exhausted, unmotivated, lazy. I got ready for work, was planning my work day in my head and it came on me that I am feeling better than I have in a while. I can't tell you why, maybe it was the fact that my baby, Rose, slept through, or was it because I had a lovely weekend? What I actually think it may have been is the fact I made sure I walked 10,000 steps yesterday, including going for an easy 30 minute walk. I think that whilst I really didnt go crazy with the exercise, I have gone back to basics. I genrally ate really well yesterday. Its amazing how better I feel metally and physically today!!!!
So this is it! I know I can do this. I want to do this.
Let's keep in touch so we can inspire each other!

Welcome Lisa & Errin,

That's great that you can give each other motivation. And going back to basics is the way to go.

Use the food diary it takes time to set up up with your favourite foods but is worth the effort. Do the Ck programme it has lots of information.

Good luck.

Regards

~KeL~

So you thought you could keep it off on your own - try again Smarty

Well here we go again.....dont know how many times I've jumped on the wagon but I'm so determined this time.

Currently I am about 111kg and so disappointed in myself. I find it so hard to keep my motivation up but I'm hoping if i keep checking in with the forums it will help.

Till next time.... and gool luck

:)After 2 very tough yrs with some personal family losses to cancer and a sudden death, my gain since these tragedies was i suppose, not surprising now that i sit hear and look back on it. Grief is a dreadful place to be, and am now realising that for past 2 years have lost myself in empty carbs. I am now heavier than i ever was, even when pregnant and it all seems so daunting. My other half has tackled his weight issues with overwhelming success and is now a regular marathoner, triathlete and half iron man. His successes, instead of inspiring me, made me eat and drink more! I have always been a regular excerciser, running, swimming, boxing and weights - but for whatever reasons in life I lost the mojo to motivate myself. So here I am trying again, determined not to head into another summer of being overweight and unhappy on the beach. This is the first step to no longer wasting brain power on thinking about being overweight because I am so sick of wasting my energy on this negativity.
