I have a lunch here and literally don't know what to have. Everything looks unhealthy! Anyone have any suggestions?!

Thanks all!

I do not know how good it is ie how much oil that they would use but I would love the Chilli squid with roasted peppers, spanish onion, caramelised pear, watercress salad and pear chilli syrup. Yummy

The kingfish or the the veal? If you swapped the fries the burger might not be to bad as you could pull the bread off if you wanted and have a side salad with it.

I would have the salmon breakfast thing (all day I assume) after asking a few more questions about things (my OH hates it when I do that!!!) and have it with either salad or veges (hold the butter or sauce) if I were trying to minimise calories.

This is NOT the unhealthiest menu ever!!

There is some actually some appealing stuff here - don't be frightened to eat out!! Eating out is one of life's great pleasures (or at least it is if you hate cooking like me) and it is worth learning to do it (ie, eating out) well. Have a go and don't be too hard on yourself if you make a mistake.

I would go for the veal backstrap, the kingfish or the barramundi (I bet you only get 1 tortellini). If it has nasty surprises when it arrives or looks like way too many calories for your budget, adjust the portion / leave the bad stuff on the plate. Whatever happens, enjoy your lunch!! Esther

I just get really stressed out with eating out. Never used too. I don't enjoy it anymore. I need to learn to get a better balance with it.

Dear Shreen26, try not to stress. Just be bold. After all, the changes you are making aren't for a short time they are for life so you might as well get on with it. I find eating out helps take some of the drudgery out of day to day micromanagement of what I eat. Some nights I can't face the kitchen but there are others where eating out is suggested and I chose to eat at home cos I have more control. You need to get to a head space where you can do both!! EG, I was at the movies with the hubby recently and really craving a choc top. We bought just the one, I looked at the label, worked out I had room (calories wise) for 1/3 as long as I didn't have an alcoholic beverage, ate that and gave him the rest. Boy did I ENJOY it! and 1/3 was ample. A choc top is now no longer something I hae to "deny" myself - it is just one of many foods I can have if the portion is right (along with camembert, yum!) Sometimes it is more about "how much" rather than "what" you eat. Never forget, the truth does set you free so work out the calories, do the math (as they say in the movies), and enjoy your new life as a capable, healthy person. Best of luck, you'll get there

The mushroom and eggs sound delicious to me. But, you know, I'm on a diet like everyone else here so everything sounds delicious. I'm sure if you are sweet about they will happily tell you what's in the food. I tend to ask and no-one ever minds!
